How to Install a Capsule Home in 3 Days: A Step-by-Step Guide

The number one reason operators choose capsule homes is speed. But "3-day install" isn't magic — it's preparation. Get the pre-site work right and the on-site window is almost boring. Here's how we do it.

Your Pre-Site Checklist (Weeks Before)

• Confirm access: a flat, firm path for the delivery truck and crane — no soft ground or low branches
• Mark utilities: know exactly where water, power and drainage meet the pod footprint
• Order permits early: even movable units may need a placement or crane permit locally
• Prep the pad: compacted gravel or concrete footings, dead level within 10 mm

Day 1 — Delivery & Placement

1. 40HQ container arrives; pods are uncrated and inspected against the factory checklist.
2. Mobile crane lifts each unit onto its pre-leveled pads. A 4-person crew guides and chocks.
3. Units are roughly aligned; steel legs secured to footings with anchor bolts.

Day 2 — Connect & Test

1. Utility runs connected: water, main power, and sewage or cassette system.
2. Smart-home system powered on; climate, lighting and locks paired and tested.
3. Decks, railings and exterior lighting attached; level re-checked.

Day 3 — Stage & Open

1. Interior staging: beds made, amenities placed, welcome kit on the counter.
2. Photography pass for your listings — golden hour if the site allows.
3. First booking goes live the same evening. Guests can arrive within 24 hours.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

• Soft ground: a crane on mud is a no-go — reinforce access first
• Utility surprise: buried lines you forgot will stop Day 2 cold
• Rushing the pad: an out-of-level base causes door and seal issues for years
